PV Solar Shading Systems

Externally mounted solar shading devices, usually formed in either a glass or metal louvre design, are used to control the solar gain in buildings.

These louvres are ideal for the integration of PV cells as the blade is exposed to provide full ventilation and can be angled to maximise efficiency.

PV solar shading systems consist of louvres made of either semi-transparent or opaque glass. If fitted with electrical motors, the photovoltaic louvres can be continuously adjusted to control the building's internal environment.

PV solar shading systems can be made to measure depending on the space available and individual power requirements.

PV cells are incorporated with the louvre, with the electrical wiring incorporated into the solar shading system's structural support framework.
