PV Canopy Systems

The largest area of under utilised space on most commercial or industrial buildings is probably the roof.

PV canopy systems integrate glass-glass laminates into a canopy surface to generate clean power and also let natural daylight through to the area below, when an opaque or semi-transparent photovoltaic laminate is used.

Canopies are traditionally constructed using curtain walling aluminium box sections designed with gaskets to support glass panels.

Specifically designed and developed details are added to the curtain walling system for use in a PV canopy system, and the electrical wiring from the glass-glass PV laminate can be incorporated into the framework of the system.

Glass-glass PV modules can be manufactured to any size up to 3.3m x 2.2m, and can be installed into any glass supporting framework system, providing further scope for design.
