Much like solar PV, micro-wind turbines can generate electricity and supply buildings in parallel with grid electricity. Wind turbines are not as well suited to medium-high density urban areas but in a windy rural location they can have excellent performance.
A micro-wind turbine system comprises a ground or smaller building mounted turbine, inverters and a cable run with little internal space requirements. Ground mounted turbines are simple to integrate into a development and provided access is given to be lower the turbine to the ground they can be maintained easily by a small team. Performance displays can also be fitted.
We are pioneering building-mounted micro-wind turbine installations as a stand-alone solution or integrated with photovoltaics. These are vibration free and noise free making them ideal for mounting in built up environments.
