Solar PV (photovoltaic) panels or modules generate electricity from daylight that is used to supply energy to a building. There are many methods of integrating a PV array onto or within a building structure and being silent in operation they are ideal for the urban environment.
The system comprises of PV modules, inverters and a cable run with very little internal space requirements making photovoltaics simple to integrate into a development. Between renewable micro-generation systems, photovoltaic solar PV systems are significantly cheaper to maintain and with 25 year performance warranties, they are expected to generate effectively for at least 50 years.
A display can be installed within the building to show how much electricity is being generated compared with that being drawn from the national grid.
