Chesterfield Borough Council has decided on the integration of PV as part of their responsibility to generate clean green energy and cut the amount of CO2 emissions from corporate owned buildings
We designed the scheme in conjunction with Chesterfield Borough Council, combining solar shading to the pool area and generating enough electricity to make a substantial contribution to the running costs of the Leisure Centre.
Using an 'On-roof' system for modules we have installed an innovative stepped configuration to maximise the available roof area. We created a standard product 'wall cladding' using a bolt-on Schuco facade system to give additional electric generation.
The existing glass to the sun terrace in the pool area has been replaced with glass/glass PV Powerglaz laminates, retro-fitted into the existing atrium structure. These laminates provide the necessary solar shading to this area whilst being the fabric of the building and generating green energy
